Kimama Bereisheet is a unique Israeli summer camp located in New Jersey, offering an unforgettable 8-week experience for children ages 5–13. Designed especially for Israeli-American families living in the U.S., the camp is led entirely in Hebrew by a dedicated team of Hebrew-speaking counselors. In addition to our main program, we offer a Leadership Development Program for teens ages 14–16, where participants take on greater responsibility while continuing to grow through hands-on experiences. Campers enjoy a wide variety of engaging activities - including sports, arts & crafts, and much more - all with the goal of creating meaningful friendships, deepening connections to Israeli culture, and strengthening their spoken Hebrew in a fun and immersive environment.

ROCK CLIMBING

Reach new heights—literally and figuratively! Rock climbing is a thrilling and challenging activity that builds physical strength, confidence, and creative problem-solving. Campers learn to set goals, overcome obstacles, and push their limits—all while having fun on our dynamic climbing wall. It’s more than just a climb; it’s a powerful learning experience.

ARTS & CRAFTS

החניכים לומדים להכיר את הכלבים, לקרוא את שפת הגוף של הכלב, לפתור בעיות התנהגות נפוצות. מתרגלים פקודות משמעת בסיסיות ומתקדמות יותר, לומדים מונחי יסוד בעולם הכלבים, וטיפול במרפאה וטרינרית. המטרה להעניק לחניכות.ים טכניקות ויסודות באילוף ולהעצים את הערך והדימוי העצמי.

Art is a powerful way to express ourselves and connect with those around us. In our arts & crafts program, campers will explore a variety of visual art forms using diverse materials and techniques. It’s a colorful, hands-on experience that sparks creativity, self-expression, and a whole lot of fun!

SPORTS

החניכים יתנסו בבישול ואפייה ברמות המקצועיות ביותר, כל סדנא תעסוק בנושא אחר, מה שיאפשר לילדים ובני הנוער להתנסות במגוון רחב של מתכונים ולחזור הביתה עם כלים לצעדים ראשונים במטבח. אופי הסדנאות יהיה חוויתי כאשר הילדים מתנסים בפרקטיקה של ההכנה וזוכים לטעום בסוף את המנה שעמלו עליה במשך הסדנה.

Team spirit, collaboration, healthy competition, and personal achievement are at the heart of our sports program. Campers will learn and play a wide variety of team and individual sports, all while building skills, confidence, and friendships. Activities take place in our advanced, well-equipped sports facilities, offering an exciting and active experience for every athlete.

SWIMMING

There’s nothing better than cooling off in the pool on a hot summer day—and we’re lucky to have one right here at camp! Each group enjoys fun-filled swim sessions with music, popsicles, pool games, friendly competitions, and plenty of time to relax and connect with friends.

All activities are closely supervised by certified lifeguards to ensure a safe, refreshing, and unforgettable experience for every camper.

Karen has been a partner in operating camp behind the scenes and volunteering her time for Bereisheet Hebrew school. Additionally, she has run community holiday events all while being Principal of an early childhood center and a mother of 4! We are excited to announce Karen as Director of Camp Bereisheet

karen adler

Karen, a mother of four and a preschool director, has been involved in informal education from a young age, holding a variety of roles across different educational settings. She played an active role in founding the Bereisheet organization and has been a dedicated volunteer there for over 11 years.

Since 2022, Karen has served as the Camp Director of Kimama-Bereisheet, overseeing its operations and helping shape its vision. Prior to that, she was deeply involved behind the scenes, gaining a thorough understanding of the camp’s needs and day-to-day responsibilities. In addition to her work at camp, she continues to produce large-scale community events throughout the year, especially during the holidays.
